ARC Development Group is pleased to provide the following update on the restoration of Lakewood Heights. Following the removal of all existing interior and exterior finishes, ARC has begun the installation of all new electrical and mechanical systems, structural seismic upgrades, insulation, double glazed windows, and roofing. Following the completion of the structural replacements, ARC will begin the installation of new interior and exterior finishes to complete the revitalization. Anticipated project completion remains early 2014.
ARC Development Group has begun initial restoration work on the Lakewood Heights apartment building in East Vancouver. All existing interior and exterior finishes are in the process of being removed before revitalization work can commence. A project viability assessment will be conducted prior to the next phase of restoration. The anticipated project completion is spring 2014.
The Canadian Rental Housing Coalition today signed a Canadian Rental Housing Charter outlining a nine-point plan to increase the supply of affordable rental housing across the nation. According to the release, the supply of new rental housing is failing to keep up with demand from a growing population. In Metro Vancouver there is an estimated demand of 6,500 new rental units per year, but there are only 600 are purpose-built annually.

ARC Development Group will be undertaking a complete restoration of Lakewood Heights apartments, a 56 unit rental building located in East Vancouver. The building was ordered closed by the City of Vancouver due to severe maintenance issues. The building is set to undergo a complete overhaul once it is stripped down to the existing wood frame and its structural integrity is confirmed.
